Our staff policy

Staff are here to run the server, not to win at it.

Staff receive no gameplay advantage. None. A staff member plays the same game you do, with the same limits, the same economy and the same risks. Every power they hold exists to do a job — and nothing else.

What this means concretely

💰 Real money only

Staff earn and spend Galleons exactly like you. No infinite balance, no free purchases. If a staff member buys something, they earned it.

🎁 No free rank perks

Staff don't get /ec, /craft, /anvil, /trash, extra homes, extra vaults or /fix for free. They buy a rank like anyone else, or they go without.

⚔️ No combat edge

Staff cannot fight in safe zones, cast spells out of them, or ender pearl into protected areas. Safe zones apply to everybody, without exception.

🔨 Build access is a tool

Staff can build in protected regions and through faction claims — because fixing griefs and running events requires it. It's a job tool, and it's logged.

Why we wrote this down

On a lot of servers "staff" quietly means "player with infinite resources". We think that's corrosive: it makes the economy meaningless and it makes every staff decision look self-interested. So the advantages were deliberately removed from the code, not just discouraged in a rulebook.

If you ever see a staff member with something they shouldn't have, report it — see below.

The six ranks

Lowest to highest. Each rank keeps everything below it and adds its own responsibilities.

Helper

Rank 1 · tag HELPER

Responsible for

  • Welcoming and assisting new players
  • Answering questions and pointing players to resources
  • Watching chat, defusing minor issues and keeping it clean
  • Escalating rule-breaking to higher staff

Powers held

  • /warn — formal warning 30s cooldown
  • /tempmute — temporary mute, 48 hours maximum no cooldown
  • /unmute — lift a mute no cooldown
  • /chat clear — clear public chat 60s cooldown
  • /sc — staff chat, to escalate

Helpers are a chat-only role. They have no in-game powers at all — no vanish, no kick, no freeze, no teleporting to players, no permanent mutes and no bans. If something needs action in the world, a Helper escalates it to a Moderator.

Moderator

Rank 2 · tag MOD

Responsible for

  • Enforcing the chat and gameplay rules
  • Issuing warnings, mutes, kicks and bans
  • Reviewing and actioning player reports
  • Supporting and guiding the Helper team

Powers held

  • Everything a Helper has
  • /v — vanish, to watch unseen
  • /kick — remove a player, e.g. to combat-log a cheater 3m cooldown
  • /ban — permanent ban 5m cooldown
  • /tempban — timed ban 5m cooldown
  • /mute — permanent mute 2m cooldown
  • /freeze · /unfreeze — hold a suspected cheater in place 2m cooldown
  • /history — a player's full punishment record
  • /socialspy — monitor private messages
  • /chat mute · slow · reload — heavier chat controls
  • /tp · /tphere — teleport to investigate

Moderators are the first rank with powers that reach into the game world, and the first that can ban.

Senior Moderator

Rank 3 · tag SR. MOD

Responsible for

  • Leading day-to-day moderation
  • Reviewing bans, handling appeals and issuing unbans
  • Resolving escalated player disputes
  • Mentoring and evaluating Moderators

Powers held

  • Everything a Moderator has
  • /unban — lift a ban no cooldown
  • /invsee — open a player's live inventory, with the ability to add and remove items
  • Authority to overturn another Moderator's punishment
  • Handles appeals

Why unban sits here. Moderators issue bans; Senior Moderators lift them. The rank that hands out a punishment is deliberately not the rank that reviews it.

Admin

Rank 4 · tag ADMIN

Responsible for

  • Managing server events and configuration
  • Overseeing staff conduct and standards
  • Investigating exploits, cheating and abuse
  • Handling advanced punishments and rollbacks

Powers held

  • Everything a Senior Moderator has
  • /admin — the administration menu
  • /gmc · /gms — creative and survival mode
  • /heal · /feed · /extinguish
  • /butcher — clear nearby entities
  • /pweather — personal weather
  • Build through faction claims and protected regions
  • Place and manage the shop NPCs
  • Manage crates, crate keys and vault stations
  • Grant and remove player ranks
  • Run and cancel world boss events
  • Set up the parkour course
  • Create and manage worlds
  • /galleons — adjust a player's balance for support cases
  • Exempt from command cooldowns

Creative mode starts here. Helpers, Moderators and Senior Moderators cannot enter creative mode at all. It's restricted to Admin and above precisely because it's the power most open to abuse.

Manager

Rank 5 · tag MANAGER

Responsible for

  • Leading the staff team and operations
  • Setting policy and reviewing staff applications
  • Coordinating updates, events and releases
  • Reporting directly to the Owner

Powers held

  • Everything an Admin has
  • /restart — schedule or trigger a server restart
  • Appoint and remove staff ranks up to Admin

Owner

Rank 6 · tag OWNER

Responsible for

  • Directing Legion Arcana and setting its vision
  • Final authority on every decision
  • Server infrastructure and finances

Powers held

  • Full server access, including the console
  • Appoint and remove any staff rank

Command cooldowns

Junior staff commands are rate limited. It is a guard rail, not a punishment — it makes a mass-punishment spree impossible, whether from a bad decision or a compromised account.

CommandCooldownWhy
/tempmuteNoneThe Helper rank's main tool. It has to keep pace with a busy chat.
/unmuteNoneNobody should ever wait to undo their own mistake.
/unbanNoneSame reason.
/unfreezeNoneSame reason.
/warn30 secondsLight touch — warnings are the most common action.
/chat clear60 secondsClearing chat repeatedly is itself disruptive.
/mute2 minutesA permanent mute deserves a pause for thought.
/freeze2 minutesFreezing stops someone playing entirely.
/kick3 minutesEnough to combat-log a cheater, not enough to clear a lobby.
/ban · /tempban5 minutesThe heaviest action available.

Two rules worth knowing. A cooldown only starts when the command actually did something — a typo, or a kick aimed at someone who is offline, costs you nothing. And Admin and above are exempt, because they are the ones handling a live raid-bot wave or a mass-grief incident where waiting would cause real damage.

Temporary mutes are capped at 48 hours. Ask for longer and the mute is shortened to 48h automatically. Anything beyond that is a permanent-mute decision, which needs a Moderator.

The moderation toolkit

What each tool actually does, so you know what's happening if one is used on you.

ToolWhat it does
WarnA formal warning recorded against your account. It stays on your history.
TempmuteStops you talking in public chat for a set time, up to a maximum of 48 hours. You can still play.
MuteA permanent chat mute. Moderator and above only.
KickDisconnects you immediately. You can rejoin straight away — it's a warning shot.
FreezeHolds you in place while staff investigate, usually a suspected cheat. Don't log out — that makes it worse.
TempbanBlocks you from the server for a set period.
BanBlocks you permanently, until appealed.
HistoryShows staff every punishment on your record — context for whether something is a first offence.
VanishMakes a staff member invisible so they can observe without changing behaviour.
Social spyLets staff see private messages. Used for harassment and scam reports.
InvseeOpens your live inventory. Senior Moderators and above can add and remove items — used to recover scammed goods and strip illegal items. Master and Legend rank holders can view only.
Chat controlsGlobal chat mute, slow mode and a filter for restricted words and untrusted links.

On chat filtering: the server automatically blocks restricted words and untrusted links, applies a short cooldown between messages, stops repeat spam and normalises excessive capitals. Staff are subject to the global chat mute and the filters too — they are exempt only where moderating requires it, such as messaging someone who is muted.

Reporting a problem

If something is wrong — a cheater, a scammer, harassment, or a staff member behaving badly — tell us.

Reporting a staff member. Take it to a SR. MOD or above. Staff conduct is explicitly an Admin responsibility, and complaints about a staff member are never handled by that same person.
